Household Hazardous Waste includes a variety of home use products which may be poisonous, toxic, or corrosive, or have flammable properties, including acids, bases, alkaline cleaners, pool chemicals, old fuel, oil paint and paint related products such as turpentine and mineral spirits. Latex paint will be accepted.
This home chemical collection event is open to all residents in the Central Texas Council of Governments area, including Bell, Coryell, Lampasas, Hamilton, Mills, Milam, and San Saba Counties. Proof of residency is required.

CLEARWATER UNDERGROUND WATER CONSERVATION DISTRICT NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING TO ADOPT DESIRED FUTURE CONDITIONS – DECEMBER 13, 2017
In accordance with Texas Water Code § 36.108(d-4), the Board of Directors of the Clearwater Underground Water Conservation District (“CUWCD”) will hold a public meeting to adopt the Desired Future Conditions (“DFCs”) for the groundwater resources located within Bell County in Groundwater Management Area (“GMA”) 8. CUWCD’s DFCs for the current 50-year regional planning period are as follows:
Lampasas River Watershed FREE Soil Test Program
The Lampasas River Watershed Partnership is offering free soil testing now until Nov. 8 to farmers, ranchers and homeowners within the Lampasas River watershed, said Lisa Prcin, Texas A&M AgriLife Research associate, Temple.
“A soil test will give you the necessary information on what levels of nitrogen, phosphorus and other nutrients are in your soil,” said Prcin, the agency’s watershed coordinator for the Lampasas River.
Clearwater Announces 17th Annual Water Symposium
Clearwater Underground Water Conservation District will be hosting its 17th Annual Bell County Water Symposium on November 15, 2017 beginning at 8:00 a.m. at Texas A&M Central Texas, 1001 Leadership Place, Killeen. Co-sponsors include Texas Well Owner Network, Lloyd Gosselink Attorneys at Law, HALFF Associates, LBG-Guyton & Associates, Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service, Bell County Engineers Office, Bell County Commissioners Court, Baylor University Department of Geology and Texas A&M University Central Texas.
